A stainless-steel ring (ASTM A240, Inox 304) moulded into a weldable plastic flange, the welded hold with metal where the rope runs. 3–4× the pull strength of a metal grommet plus the wear resistance of metal. PVC and PVC/PUR.

Application notes
How to mount weldable eyelets
Weldable eyelets are typically mounted by high-frequency (HF/RF) welding or ultrasonic welding. Carmo supplies tools and electrodes covering all geometries, for existing bar welders, and a line of dedicated machines for integrated punching, automatic feeding and welding.
Prototyping, repairs and small runs
For prototyping and small series, eyelets weld with the UG4 eyelet setter tool in an existing bar welder: no dedicated machine required. Eyelets can also be bonded for temporary mock-ups.
For repairs and temporary mock-ups, soft PVC can also be bonded with a commercially available PVC glue rather than welded. For anything load-bearing, welded mounting or clip grommets are the durable choice: contact sales.
How to increase strength

Carmo PVC eyelets weld single-sided or double-sided. Single-sided is fast and can hide the eyelet from direct view: useful in high-quality banner production. Double-sided gives maximum strength and durability, especially in mesh materials. The eyelet’s smooth inner bore is gentle on what runs through it: extending the life of guy-lines, cords and ropes.
Frequently asked
Can plastic eyelets replace metal grommets in tarpaulins and banners? Yes: welded in, the joint holds more than the clamped grommet it replaces, and nothing on the fabric can rust or stain. The full comparison: the conversion guide.
