Carmo has joined Science Based Targets and is committed to reducing emissions in scope 1 and 2 with 50% in 2030. Carmo’s reduction targets are in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement to keep global warming to 1.5°C.
Carmo’s emission reduction is based on the emissions in 2018. Carmo will also measure and reduce emissions in scope 3.

Emissions accounting tracks the development closely
Carmo has always optimized its processed to ensure an efficient production. With Science Based Targets, we have specific climate goals that we can target our work according to. We can closely follow the development of our efforts and adapt so that we reach our goals.
Emissions accounting 2018-2021
With Science Based Targets we commit to publish our emissions accounting annually. You will therefore be able to follow the development year by year on this page.
As seen on the graph below, the emissions for the period 2018-2021 (in blue) is below the targets (in yellow). A projection to the year 2030 of the development to date is marked with the blue dotted line.
About the calculations of the emissions
The calculations are build on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. he carbon footprint is calculated on the basis of the calculation tool of the Danish Business Authority (“Erhvervsstyrelsen”). The environmental declaration is used for electricity. The accounting is cradle-2-gate, i.e. downstream discharges are not included.
The emissions accounting for the period 2018-2021 is verified and quality assured by Viegand Maagøe.
