Tidewave was established in 2017, focusing on developing the Tidewave™ Mattress, which revolutionizes pressure ulcers prevention and provides improved sleep quality for the patient, relief for caregivers and peace of mind for relatives. Andreas Smith, Chief Technology Officer at Tidewave Medical AS, explains Carmo’s role in the early stages of the cooperation:

Carmo played a crucial role in supplying the components necessary to make the Tidewave™ Mattress work as intended. We had tried other solutions that didn’t work, but Carmo had the expertise to help us developing the right solutions for our mattress. Durable components adding longevity

The Tidewave Mattressess are subject to wear and tear from daily usage, and therefore longevity is a major factor. To support this, the Tidewave Mattressess are manufactured using the best components available. Andreas Smith explains why Tidewave chose Carmo as their supplier:

Carmo’s components are of very high quality, which is crucial to our product. The angled weldable air inlet from Carmo has proven its reliability. The components make sure the air is delivered to the mattress, thereby ensuring one of the important features of the mattress. We are very happy with the quality of the Carmo components.

Focus on environmental responsibility matters

Tidewave wants all its suppliers to take environmental responsibility. Andreas Smith expands:

It is important that all our supply chains are focused on making a good impact on the environment. Therefore, we value Carmo’s efforts to reduce its climate footprint and for instance setting specific targets to reduce its CO2 emissions by 2030 very highly. Also, Carmo’s location near Copenhagen makes it a short distance to ship their components to us and a short trip for us to visit from Stavanger.
